You can’t spot reduce fat. If you work out you will gain muscle so you won’t really lose poundage, and if you do its probably a good thing because that means you had a lot of excess fat, which is of no use in sports.

Convert all that fat to muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, and will burn away your belly fat. For football in general, power cleans are an excellent work out. Google it. They help give you that explosion off the line. It’s almost like spring loading yourself. As for your belly, I would do straight ab work outs. One of the best ones I did in high school was holding a 45lb weight up to my chest and doing sit ups off a weight bench. Let me tell you, that will burn your belly away quick! I hope this helps.

Because when your “WHY” is strong enough, you’ll find a way “HOW”.
