How could I lose some of my stomach fat?
I am fairly skinny.. about 130 pounds, or even less, and I am 17. I have no problems with my weight, just my stomach. It sticks out even when I stand up straight, and especially when I sit down it’s even worse.
I walk 4 miles almost everyday home from school, I run for 30 minutes two or three times a week, and workout for about the same amount of time. Sometimes I do sit-ups, but I know those alone won’t get rid of my stomach fat.
I have been doing this for about a month or two, and haven’t seen ANY results. Would my diet and amount of food I eat incorporate a lot into losing my stomach fat? Because I eat a lot of small meals during the day, along with lunch and dinner. So I think that could be why, but also if I’m doing the right excercises, wouldn’t that just burn off that fat anyway?
Any REAL help (not any rude or pointless comments) would be MUCH appreciated.
I live close to San Antonio.. and I see it a lot here too. But usually the girls with the guts are the ones letting it hang out under small tank tops.
It’s pretty disgusting.

keep doing the sit ups and cut back on fats. I have an ab lounge. It looks easy but it’s not. If you don’t continue to exercise especially your stomach muscles you will have back problems as you get older.

You may have to eat a lot less. It’s the only way.
One trick I have to lose weight (aka eating less) is to drink coffee, that supresses my appetite.

When I first moved to San Antonio I thought it was genetic. I saw tons of hispanics with a gut…. but now that I look around I am seeing guts on some of the white people. I have gained weight since I moved down here too. Maybe its just too hot to get out. Not sure. Possibly a combination of genetics and enviroment or even the type of foods. I have noticed all these taco stands here can’t be healthy. It’s like every third restaurant is a taco joint.
Either way just move here you will fit right in. Girls here wear tight shirts that show off their big guts. Kinda gross but when its all you see… you get use to it.

you are right about eating small meals – you have to have 5-6 of those during the day, make sure you get enough fruit and veggies, protein, complex carbs and healthy fats. all food you eat is being converted into energy and only if not spend will be stored in fat reserves.
you have to stop doing situps – all they do is build muscle, they dont burn fat so will make it look bigger.
the only fat burning exercise is cardio and you have to do it 4-6 times a week for average of 45min to see results (running, jogging, swimming, elliptical, rope jumping etc) and also do some light weight training a few times a week (the more muscle=the faster metabolism)
different people have different areas their bodies like to keep fat reserves and yours is on your belly – the only way to get rid of it is by lowering your body fat percentage with good diet and exercise. be patient.
