Check how many programs are set to run at startup, as little as possible, and defrag your hard drive, you should see improvement

can be many reasons.
1. too many programs running on startup.
answer to #1: check which programs you want to keep running (antivirus, firewall if you have one, sound icon)..to disable them click start>>run>>type msconfig. go to the startup tab and disable what you dont need to load on startup.
2. registry is not clean
answer to #2: download CCleaner (its free) and run ccleaner. and run the scan for errors (registry)
3. harddrive is fragged badly
answer to #3: rightclick C: go to properties. under tools tab, click defrag now.
4. spyware
answer to #4: download malwarebytes antimalware. do a deep scan.(you dont have to buy the program to use it. but its worth the $$$)

Sorry to hear about your computer performance problems. Before you make the mistake of buying a whole new computer, why not try to perform some speed tweaks to fully optimize your CURRENT system. Here are a few you can try:
1.Remove unnecessary startup programs.
2.Defrag your system and run a disk cleanup
3.Clean up the Windows registry
If you are not a computer expert and want a program that can automatically perform all three try downloading this software:

There are MANY reasons for computer slow downs:
not enough memory
too many programs starting up with windows at boot up time
too many junk files
too many restore points
Clean windows registry can speed up the computer.
Over time, you install new programs, uninstalled unimportant programs, update software’s, install new devices,
download files from the web, etcetera, hence embarking all records in the registry system.
This is normal, but it is not wise to leave it untouched.
Once in a while, you have to check and remove files that are no longer in use to maintain the speed of your PC.
Clean registry make pc faster.
