Does anyone know of an artist that bases their work on nature and natural forms eg bark, wood, leaves?
I really like Georgia O’Keefe’s work, especially the skulls and would like to do something along those lines maybe. My other idea is I would like to make a rather abstract mixed media piece, a close up of some bark perhaps. I dont want to go for the obvious Goldsworthy, Deacon, Long, Hepworth and Moore etc. I want to be original! Any help would be brilliant thanks 🙂 xxx

How about Ivan Shishkin?
He basically only draws trees; he has closeups of bark too 🙂
I personally love his work.
I’m not sure if this is the answer you were looking for, but it’s the best I could come up with. 😀

Ansel Adams can be pretty inspirational.

Paul Cézanne with his multiple views of “Montagne Ste Victoire”, for example. And it’s quite easy to make an abstract inspired by those, Picasso did it so why not you ?
