How can you tighten up stomach flab from lost weight?
Several years ago I weighed 220 pounds, as a 6ft tall male. Since then I’ve lost significant weight, my lowest being 162, but right now I’m at 175. My stomach doesn’t hang over my pants like it used to but there is still a bulge there, which is very noticeable if my shirt if off, protruding off my waist line.
I’ve tried doing 100-200 bicycle crunches a day for a few weeks in a row, on several occasions, as well as keep my weight down but it doesn’t go away.
Am I doing something wrong? It’s not a huge pudge, only about 3/4 in. out, but I want a flat stomach when I take my shirt off.
I would like some advice from someone that has been in this same situation and knows how to get rid of it. The ‘normal’ “do this and do that” isn’t working.

the everlasting question

Look and see how your diet is. You are, what you eat!
Crunches doesn’t burn fat from your stomach. Sit-ups and crunches simply tone the abdominal muscles. Everyone has abs. Some are just covered by more fat than others. You can do sit-ups and crunches all day long but if you don’t get rid of the belly fat then the abs are not going to show.
The two best ways to burn fat is cardio and weight lifting. Lifting weights builds muscle which in turn helps to burn more fat by speeding up the metabolism. Muscle burns more calories.
Your diet also plays a big part. Just because you do cardio and lift weights doesn’t mean that you can eat whatever you want. When training the abs, your diet plays a huge role.
And by diet I don’t mean starving yourself. There are many reliable resources online to help you along the way. A few that I would recommend are “menshealth.com, askmen.com”.
Also checkout some websites such as foodnetwork.com to help you put together some healthy meals.
