if your pressure is very high, you probably need to get on medication
as far as a diet to follow, reduce your calories, saturated fat, sugar, and sodium, and eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean protein, healthy fats (avocados, nuts, fish, olive oil)
you may also want to cut back on caffeine, and any other stimulants
also try to reduce stress in your life and make sure you are getting enough cardio exercise

Well generally speaking I’d say cut salt, soda, and eat more fresh fruit and vegetables. Specifically many hospitals in the US reccommend a diet chemically balanced (you have to follow it strictly) where you eat exact portions of certian food groups every other day, it includes things like beets, broccoli, carrots, spinach, etc. and I’m sorry I can’t find a link at moment but it really does work in six weeks time. If high blood pressure is an issue, I would advise quit smoking (or seriously cut back at least) and cut down on caffiene by switching to coffee or tea without it. I don’t like all vegetables that well either but I’m eating them now 😛 15 minutes of exercise every day, like walking, can be good, but also rest, like getting enough sleep, is important to blood pressure and losing weight.

Hey, it’s almost New Years. What a great time to make a resolution to lose weight! I wish you the best of luck in it.
You really have to look at two areas of your life and adjust them to match your goals:
* Diet
* Exercise
You simply can’t get around these two facts. You have to consume fewer calories than you burn each day to loose weight. So if you don’t change your diet, then you’ll have to exercise more. Frankly, it’s easier to adjust both things. Eat less, or eat smarter and exercise moderately. You don’t have to go overboard. A 20 minute walk around the block is exercise.
Find someone who can share the goal with you. Another overweight friend who will walk with you. That helps a lot. You can encourage each other.
