Firstly, it permanently removed the French military threat to Britain’s American colonies. As the colonists had always been able to deal with the Native American threat themselves, many of them began to believe that they didn’t need Britain any more, and would be better off independent.
18th century warfare was expensive, and after the war the British government decided that the American colonists should pay at least some of the cost of their protection by the British military, primarily in the form of indirect taxes on luxury goods.Wealthier colonists didn’t like this at all (they were the ones who bought luxury goods, so would pay most of the taxes),so resisted this. This led to a vicious circle of resistance, followed by legislation to enforce the taxes or punish those who refused to pay, and eventually led to the American Revolution.
