Best place online to learn guitar basics?

I am taking lessons soon but I want a place online that is easy to explain (especially for an 11 year old). My cousin and I are going to learn. She is 11 and needs help. She wants to know the basics before lessons start. We have a Fender Starcaster Acoustic guitar. If there are any Youtube Videos. can you give me the link please? Thanks!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_chords

Wikipedia wins again. These are all the basic chords that new players usually learn.

The 5 positions of the pentatonic scale are great to learn, too… after you learn basic chords.

    Hi there!

Check out http://www.shigaru.com . It’s a new guitar community based website where people can share their musical knowledge by uploading there own music, video tutorials. They have all kinds of levels on there,…especially beginners stuff!

    Best of all ….it’s free!!

    Hope this helps!

And please tell all your friends about it. The more people we tell about the site the more users it will have and the more tutorials people will share with us!! 🙂

    Hi.

It’s good that you are starting guitar so young. You’ll be an expert before you are 20 for sure! There are many resources online for you to learn to play guitar, electric and box, but you may not want to spend a lot of time finding out that one place is not right for you.

My experience with online resources, whether it’s learning to play guitar or learning to do maths, is that free is not always the best. You can find a good resource that may cost you (or your parent) a bit of money, but saves you time and aggravation in the end.

Besides, when you are at home, and practicing, you don’t want to
practice the wrong thing. The resource below has some videos that you will find useful too.

All the best with your guitar lessons,

I have been looking for a place similar to this for a long time.
I was trying to find a person who would be in a position to
clearly navigate me about this issue and was fortunate enough to find
you. Thanks a lot for the detailed reason, you drew attention to a very common matter!

Although I share your opinion for the most part, I think that a few factors are worth
having a more comprehensive look to understand what’s
    going on.

The article was instead catching and interesting enough to receive all possible nuances to recall.
I do enjoy studying the content and the writing manner
    of the author, etc..

I saw something similar a couple of weeks before, but you did detailed study,
and your post seems to be more persuasive than the others.
I’m amazed with the arguments you provided as well as the type of your post.
I enjoy when posts are both informative and interesting, when even boring facts are presented in an interactive manner.
Well, it is surely about your article.

Thanks for bringing up this topic. I like how you present and maintain all of the
details as well as your general writing style. Sometimes,
there is a shortage of time to study lengthy bits, but is
short and succinct, I spent just a few minutes to read the entire article.
It is essential since no one has the time to browse.
