What is the difference in memeory between a PC and a laptop?
Do modern laptops have as much memory power as PCs? I’m thinking of buying a laptop but wanted to know if I am giving away lots of memory compared to a PC. For example, if i was running a high memory programe would it be a lot slower on a laptop compared to a PC?

You can overclock the desktop memory. And the SDRAM on desktops have more pins, and have heatsinks to allow for faster heat dispersion, which means higher/faster performance.
Laptops are not meant to compete with a desktop. If everything is factory-settings, they’d run about the same. But since desktops cool better, the advantage is theirs from the start.

With laptops you almost always are giving up some performance and computing power for the portability compared to a desktop. However, most modern dual core or greater laptops with at least 2 gigabytes of main memory can do just about anything and in a reasonable amount of time.
