Has anyone had success in stopping smoking with a prescription pill?
I am 23 and smoke a pack and half a day. I have an appointment today to get a prescription pill to help me stop smoking. I was just wondering if anyone has had success with this or something else.
Also, is it safe to take the pill and the gum/patch?

I had success while taking Welbutrin, for depression. I was prescribed that 5 years ago, and it had to be the NON generic type because it contains ingredients similar to that of Zyban, the pill some doctors prescribe for smoking cessation. These days there are a lot more meds out there that they can give you, so I suggest you follow your own doctors advice. good luck!
Oh and a good friend of mine took the drug Chantix~it helped her cut down on the smoking, but she got really angry and anxious while on it, so I never dared to try it!
Often doctors will give you the okay to take the medicine in pill form, while also allowing you to chew the gum for urges~

There are a couple of different types of prescription meds that doctors prescribe — antidepressants as well as other stuff. You should definitely ask if it’s okay to combine the patch with whatever your doctor prescribes. Also you might find info about this on the brochure that comes with your prescription.
I was able to quit smoking without a prescription but I had a lot of support from my friends and family.
