Doing windmills helps to get your waist and your “love handles” too, but sit-ups and running are the standards. There’s a lot of pilates exercises that target your stomach, they worked very well for me. Good luck!!

Aerobic exercise in general is good. That’s like running, slow weight lifting, etc. Anything that is repeated many times over. Contrary to what a lot of people seem to believe, you can’t spot lose weight. You lose weight over your whole body. You can’t just do crunches and expect the fat specifically there to disappear. I would still suggest the crunches, though. They build muscle in your abs, helping to making your waist less lumpy and bumpy. I don’t know if it would be the best thing to get a SLIMMER waist, but it would make it smoother and more pleasant to look at.
So basically, you have two of the best things right there. Aerobic excercises–running, walking, jumping rope, I’m pretty sure Tai Chi is (might oughtta check first), swimming, and crunches are too I think. Just find what works best for you. And STICK WITH IT. Make sure not to cut out too many carbs while you’re at it though. They are what keeps you going.
