Turkeys and spiral hams are very easy to make in the oven. Both come with directions on how long to cook. With the turkey, just make sure you put in the fridge a couple days in advance so it isn’t frozen. The night before I like to season it. Then before I put in the oven, I stuff it with stuffing (I buy the prepackaged stuffing and mix in 2 cans of broth and celery, stir together, then stuff). It can take 5 hours or so depending on the turkey size.

    Side dish options:

Green Bean Casserole (a couple cans of green beans, a couple cans of cream of mushroom, some French’s friend onions…there is a receipe on the friend onion can…and it’s delicious!)
Jello w/ fruit mixed in it topped with whipped cream
    Baked Mac and Cheese
    Wild Rice
    Homemade dinner rolls
    Garlic mashed potatoes
    Homemade gravy
Pumpkin Pie, apple pie, blueberry pie, cherry pie
    Cheesecake
    Ice Cream
…are just a few options to choose from. And what is nice about some of these options is you can make a casserole the next day w/ some of the leftovers (like the stuffing, turkey, potatoes, and homemade gravy…yummy!)

If you are afraid of a whole turkey, roast a turkey breast either bone in or boneless. If you do this, be sure to add some chicken stock to the pan so you will have plenty of liquid for gravy and dressing.
A sweet potato casserole or baked sweet potatoes. Just bake some sweet potatoes and scoop out insides into a bowl, whip up with some butter and/or a splash of syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Some people top it with marshamallows and bake, but that is too sweet for me.
Or just bake the sweet potatoes and serve in the peel with butter and cinnamon.
Another easy thing is just green beans. In a sauce pan, brown a couple of slices of bacon, chopped up and then add some finely diced onion. Add the green beans with their liquid and simmer until the liquid evaporates. The beans will have the bacon and onion flavor.
