Why is it bad to defrost food then refreeze it?
I’ve always heard that if you defrost food, you shouldn’t refreeze it because its not good for you. I don’t understand why this should be a problem if the food defrosts in the refrigerator. Also, I’ve heard that you shouldn’t reheat your food more than twice. Are these just myths or can it really affect you? Thanks.

yep its true, because when you defrost food and it thaws out it starts to get bacteria, then you refreeze it and thats why its bad for you, also its the same reason for reheating, you can get a serios tummy bug,

It depends on what you are defrosting and refreezing. Most foods will get freezer burnt very easily if it has been thawed and refrozen. When reheating only reheat what you are going to eat. Most left overs should be used within 3-4 days and then thrown out. Why take any chances of getting ill! If you want your leftovers to last longer freeze what you won’t eat in the 3-4 days. You should reuse what you have frozen within a month because most foods will loose their quality. Soup is probably the only exception .
