What type of system spec will my PC need to run Crysis in its high settings?
Hello,
I would like to buy a new gaming PC to play Crisis at its high settings with no slowdowns at all. What hardware do you recommend for my PC? Also, for this new system should I run XP or Vista?

If you don’t want to be restricted to playing anything other than Crysis and older games…get Vista. You’ll need a top of the line rig though. Nothing store bought (like Best Buy). Go to http://www.newegg.com and piece one together

See, you still need to define what you mean by “high” settings. Do you mean highest highest? What resolution? Etc etc.
Obviously you should run Vista because Vista has DirectX10.
An Intel i7 paired with a GeForce 295GTX would be able to play Crysis exceptionally well on “high” settings 🙂

For Price go AMD…you get a lot more bang for your buck with AMD.
Personally i am using:
AMD Phenom II 940 Overclocked to 3.6Ghz
8GB DDR2 1066 RAM
Dual Sapphire Radeon HD 4670 1GB GDDR3 Video Cards
on a Windows XP x64/Windows 7 Platform (DirectX 10 on both)
I can play Crysis with no troubles. I rebuilt my rig for $800 and havent found a game i can’t play on High settings. *Note i play all my games at 1440×900 Resolution…(Native for my Monitor)

Go with XP 64 bit.
I run Crysis on high settings with a dual core AMD each core clocked at 2.5ghz, 3GB of DDR2 Ram, and PNY Geforce 9600 GT.
Of course with 4x Anti-aliasing, and in 1024×768 resolution.
I use Vista 32 bit.

Vista with 4+ gb of ram, 2 sli 8800 nvidia geforce 256 mb videocards. That should do the trick.

If you just mean “high” with no filtering or AA, an e7400 with a gtx260 will do the trick.
If you mean “highest” with max filtering and AA, nothing will perform well, but an overclocked i7 and three gtx285’s will come pretty close.

as long as your rocking an i7 ,a GTX 295 and some fast ram and vista you’ll be able to play on very high at 1920×1200 with 4xAA with no worries. im talking 60fps+ too.
you’ll need to spend about £1200 on the tower alone tho.
if yor running at a lower res on a smaller screen you can opt for any of the GTX range really, or of course the ATI 4870 x2 which is also great.
you’ll need vista over xp tho, as direct x 10 is vista only. with xp you can only run the game in high, not very high.
