Should I buying Christmas gifts for work?
I just started working at a school less than 3 weeks. Christmas is around the corner and I don’t know if it’s appropriate to buy gifts for all the teacher or only the teachers in my grade level. What types of gifts should I get them when working on a small budget?

At my work we just bring baked goods to share with the entire office. It’s cheaper for everyone and more personal.

you are not obligated but if you really want to share the holiday spirit you can try bringing in a treat to share with the team

Why buy anything at all? It is not appropriate as you barely started working there.

Don’t buy anything – bring in a batch of home made cookies or candy- whatever your speciality is

Don’t bother. With this economy???? You don’t owe them nothing only after 3 weeks of working with them. If you are a nice person or someone who can’t say no, just write everyone a card and that is that. Don’t spend your hard earned money on people who could probably care less anyways…

honestly because of the shape of the economy i think everyone would more than understand if you didnt bring any at all much less expect you to in the first place. if you feel you just must candles are good. store like garden ridge sell alot of cheap but interesting variations.

I worked at a school for 6 years. We never bought gifts for each other. Sometimes, we handed out holiday cards. To make the card special, put a piece of candy in the envelope or a candy cane. Teachers just don’t make enough money to buy gifts for co-workers. Cards are greatly appreciated.

Have you made any friends there? If you have get presents for your friends, and bring cookies or candy for everyone!
