I can lose weight fast, how is it due to metabolism?
I’m 5’6 and weigh 145 lbs. I am a college student and eat out 1-2 times a day. I barely ever exercise. I’m now 22 and 3 years ago I weighed 130. I can lose 10 lbs in 2 weeks (thanks to slim fast). Can you explain this? If I quit eating out would I go back to 130 lbs for good?

meabolism rate affects our weight a great deal. what people dont know is tha anything you ea is changed into fats and stored in your tummy or your ass. if your meablism rate is slow then you will have a lot of food in your stomach and have a big ummy and ass

If you have a fast metabolism, that just means that your body cells metabolize, or burn, sugar molecules quickly. If you get rid of sugar molecules quickly, there’s nothing left to be made into fat. If you don’t get enough sugar molecules (your body breaks down more complex molecules to form sugar) than your body starts burning fat, which is just a warehouse for extra sugar molecules. And when you burn fat, you lose weight.

The 10 lbs that you lose on Slimfast is probably mostly retained water and only a bit of weight. Almost anyone that goes on Slimfast will lose 10 lbs in 2 weeks — which is why they continue to be in business: fast results.
If you eat healthier and exercise (which you should do for you health, not just a number on a scale) more, then you would probably get back to 130. However, your metabolism does decrease with age and will fluctuate, so once you get to 130, you will have to adjust your eating habits and exercise levels to stay there. Not eating out so much will save money, too.

Yes, it is due to having a fast metabolism. You could potentially have an overactive thyroid as well so if it is a concern, I would get to a doctor as there can be a lot of negative consequences of an overactive thyroid.
Chances are, if you stop eating out, you would lose weight. I don’t know if you would go back to 130 for good or not but you would lose weight, but more importantly, you would be doing a world of good for your body (especially your heart). Fast food is very damaging and bad for your heart and long-term health so giving it up would be advisable no matter what your size is.
If you are yo-yo dieting as they call it, this is bad for your metabolism and in the long run, you could end up causing it to slow down. Our metabolism slows down with age as it is so you would be getting a headstart if you start eating healthily.

Dont quit eating!!! It will backfire. Metabolism is the rate at which your body burns calories to keep itself alive, and if you dont provide it with enough fuel, it will slow down. Stop eating, and your metabolism slows way down. Then, when you eat again, its much easier to put that weight right back on (probably even more).
In order to keep your metabolism high, eat throughout the day. Eat when you wake up, and then every 4-5 hours after that until you fall asleep. (I usually stop around 8 so im hungry in the morning) If you exercise, doing so in the morning is great for your metabolism. Make sure your meals are filled with protein, which helps your metabolism as well, and fiber. Finally, strength training. Building muscle is great, becuase muscles are our bodies natural fat burners. The more muscle you have, the more calories you will burn throughout the day.
Bottom line: not eating is probably the worst thing you can do wehn you are trying to lose weight!
