How do you store melted candy wafers that you have finished molding them? How long are they good for?

I am having a baby shower for my sister and I made pink and green candy wafer thank you chocolates out of the molds you get from Michaels. The shower is not until the end of June, but I needed to make them now. How should I store them and wil they still be good the end of JUne? I was thinking of putting them in the fridge or freezer?

You can refrigerate them in an air tight container. This will keep them ok until your sister’s baby shower. You can also freeze them if you want, I just don’t like frozen candies. They will stay fresh in the frig for two to three months.

Store them in an air tight container in the pantry. Cold is NOT good for chocolate. If you put them in the fridge and it’s too cold, or if you put them in the freezer, it may cause thermal cracking. Although you may not have that ‘problem’ with the chocolate you get from Michaels because it’s got so much filler wax and junk in it.

If you haven’t bought the chocolate yet I’d check out Bada Bing Bada Boom Candy Melts. (Get white chocolate and add coloring). They taste about 10,000 times better than the craft store stuff and don’t have the fillers and wax in it. They don’t require extra work of tempering like couverture chocolate does, but it tastes like it’s high end couverture chocolate. I know you can make the Bada Bing Bada Boom Candy Melts into molded candy in advance and store it in an air tight container in the pantry and it will be fine for several months.

    Good luck.
