Foodnetwork.com
It rates recipes from easy to hard.
Reading the ingredients list is usually the best way to tell how expensive it will be. You can also search this website by keywords like “easy” “inexpensive” and by ingredients.

Oven-Baked Chicken Parmesan
4 boneless chicken breasts
1 egg, slightly beaten
3/4 cup seasoned dry bread crumbs
1 jar (26-28 oz.) Pasta Sause
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 oz.)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Dip chicken in egg, then bread crumbs, coating well.
In 13″x9″ glass baking dish, arrange chicken. Bake uncovered 20 minutes.
Pour pasta sauce over chicken, then top with cheese. Bake an additional 10 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink.
Serve with hot cooked pasta and a salad.
*** I cut the chicken breasts in half – for easier eating ***
I cook this one a lot because there’s only 5 ingredients and it’s so easy.
Good luck!

Chicken tastes great when you marinate it in italian dressing. Just buy some breasts and marinate them in the dressing, and bake them in the oven for an hour at about 375 degrees or throw them on the George Foreman for 10 minutes (thawed). You could try them along with some pasta noodles and marinara sauce. Chicken Parmigiana! Dinner for two for about $10.

just to name a few. another good thing to do is get a blank cookbook so you can put all the recipes in it and it will make it easier to find them. and ask some of your female relatives for some of their relatives (the ones who cook good, that is). then you have great recipes and a start to a family heirloom. 🙂

Make a bed for LidaD’s recipe.Add to boiling water with salt and olive oil (or vegetable oil) some rotinni pasta (around $1 for a box) for 10 mins when done strain the noodles and add some store bought alfredo sauce (for about $2 a jar). Top with Lindas recipe for chicken. If you want to go further before straining the rotini(or whatever else pasta you decide)add a bag of Italian mix frozen vegetables (about $2 a bag)to the already boiling pasta then drain. you can then add alfredo sauce and top with the chicken. Bag of salad for around ($3 or less),they come already to serve. They also have garlic bread in the freezer section of supermarket just re-heat in oven (abt another $2). Gosh , You are so to impress with this without the hazzle. Very romantic without the $$$ you spend in a restaurant. Add some of your own details, candles, rose or any flower petals on the table(if it is a romantic theme)if it is just a friend gathering maybe have handy or on the table some pictures of moments spent with the invited, good honest conversation and you have a lovely evening. Hope it helps. 🙂
