I had a friend that her husband quit smoking for 6 MONTHS before they tried conceiving and they were successful. But before that they tried several times and were unable to do it. Sorry I don’t know percentage I will try and find some facts and come back with another answer.
Take a look at this:

Only his doctor can provide this information. Any answer here would be purely a guess & totally inaccurate.

Some of the many causes that lower sperm count.
They’re has been many studies that disprove the smoking lowering sperm count, it’s still a continuous argument. Same with Marijuana, which only lowers your sperm count when smoking the seeds of the plant.
Cover all your bases.

Hi IJT,
As a couple who wish to conceive a child, making decision to start trying for a baby is a very exciting time. Unfortunately, for some people it’s not that easy to conceive a child. Most of them are having problem while doing the process. One of the most common causes for this problem is that the male has a problem with low sperm count.
You see,men that smoke are vulnerable to antioxidant depletion. Antioxidant such as beta carotene, vitamin E and vitamin C are very important to increase your sperm count. They can protect your sperm from oxidation and they can increase the concentration and motility of the sperm. Therefore,if you had recently stopped smoking, that’s good.
More on it on the source article.
Hope this will helps.
