I received a KitchenAid Slow cooker for Christmas. What are the cooking times? I am attempting to make a 2 pound bottom round roast, I have directions on how to use it, but I am clueless as to the amount of time to cook it for. Help Please. I am excited but clueless. I usually cook this meal in the oven.

There must be a recipe book with the cooker. If not, go to their web site for recipes.

As many others have said, the slow cooker should have come with a cookbook.
In general, slow cookers take many hours to completely cook a roast- often an entire day. It’s better to overcook. As long as you have enough water, the contents will never burn.
For the 2 pound round roast (sitting at least 1 cup of water), I would give it at least six hours – more if you are adding a lot of potatoes.

Check the instructions carefully to see if the times for cooking might be in it. Or check other cook books to get an idea about cooking times. Maybe you know somone else who has the same cooker. Or write to the company who sells the cooker or check with a store that sells it.

I have a bunch of slow cooker recipes on my blog. Feel free to look around.
