He should be taken away from that gang. this is an important step. Besides try encouraging him to go for exercising.

I am an X smoker. Take it from me when I say that a smoker will not stop until he/she decides to quit. A smoker must decide in their mind that it is time to quit. If that is not done then the person will not quit. It is good that you want to help your friend but to bug a smoker is just going to make that person dig in and keep smoking. Stopping is an internal decision made only by the smoker.

One way I’ve heard about is this: you take a pack of cigarettes, grab a glass of water, take the filters off each cig, stick the cigs in the glass of water, grind ’em up in there, and make the guy drink it.

Here’s an article my church has put out in one of it’s magazines. You don’t have to be a member of my church to appreciate its words and follow its advise, it’s really for everyone. The article also provides excellent links and such to other sites that will help people quit smoking. I suggest you check it out: http://lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?hideNav=1&locale=0&sourceId=16208c6a47e0c010VgnVCM1000004d82620a____&vgnextoid=2354fccf2b7db010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD
