It is really down to your conscience. Do what feels right.

I haven’t yet and I’ve been practicing for many years now. Sure I know it would better for me and yes it might possibly make my meditations better – if only bc I wouldn’t start fiending halfway through… But no, I think it is a matter of choice.

Besides our religion is based on the tenet of “Harm none” and me not smoking is hazardous to other people’s health…

Hahaha you’re for real a wiccan?
    Sounds better than a Christian.
I’d say… No. You don’t, just do some witchcraft and you’re set.

Wicca doesn’t require anyone give up anything. I know a number of Wiccans and Neo-Pagans who smoke. But, personally, I think you should give it up because it is bad for your health.

What I would do is ask a member of your cult. i have never heard of a Wiccan

Besides, a true wiccan would know that smoke calls out beings from other dimensions. Whom is your mentor? They need to step it up a little!

Look at it this way. One day you will be smoking if you don’t turn from your wiccan, I’m sorry, wicked ways.

Blessings,as long as you do not smoke around people that do not smoke it’s really up to the person . We all have a habit or some thing to overcome, just be careful and take care of your health.

You do not have to quit smoking. Do what your conscious tells you to do. It is important to have a healthy mind and body, so smoking kind of doesn’t help with that, but it’s not against any rules or anything.

No, you don’t have to. There is no compulsion. We don’t have to be perfect. And we are not Puritans!

But yes, it would be ideal. Our bodies are sacred. And we are enjoined to do what we will if it harm none, and that includes ourselves.

Furthermore, I do believe that a bad smoking habit (I’m not just talking one or two a day) impacts badly on your general fitness level, raises the carbon monoxide level in your blood, impedes your ability to breathe deeply and regularly, and therefore to meditate and to focus.

So yes, without being dogmatic or puritanical, I do think that you would better aim to give it up.

Do you have to? Absolutely not. Wicca doesn’t dictate how we should live. It does, however, encourage us to be aware of the repercussions of our actions. If you’re willing to accept the consequences of your smoking, that is your choice.

The rede is a guideline; not a commandment. IT was an idea of humans, not a mandate of the Gods. I do embrace the rede, and I do believe it also means to try not to harm ourselves, and that means giving up unhealthy habits.

    But we all have vices.

Yes, it would be better for you to give up smoking (I did– and in some ways I still miss it! It was relaxing! I know it’s hard but you’ll feel better, be healthier, and save a heck of a lot of money considering the price of cigarettes these days).

But no God/dess is going to come and smite you if you don’t. It doesn’t mean you’re any less devoted to the Gods.

Basically, no one is perfect, you don’t have to be… work on improving yourself, but even the Goddess wouldn’t expect you to do it all at once. If it ever comes a time you are ready to take the challenge to give up smoking, just pray for strength and go for it.

Until then, don’t beat yourself up over it.

no, theres no reason for you to quit… unless you really want to for your own benefits.
