If you smoke 3 to 4 a day, you CAN quit. Don’t wait till your up to two packs a day like me. I think that there is a little brainwashing with all the statements about cigarettes being more addictive than heroin and how it will be the hardest thing you ever did. If you think you need it, get some nicotine gum or patches from your doc. Withdrawl will only last about 2 or 3 days, just tough it out. You will be so much happier if you don’t continue smoking.

You could probably gain weight anyway, but I suggest you stop smoking anyway.

When you stop smoking, your food tastes better, so you eat more

Hi there. Depending on your age, you may naturally gain weight with a good diet of lean meats, fresh fruits and veggies, and whole grains. Sometimes, genetics play a major role in your overall build. Exercise builds muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. Smoking 6 cigarettes or less a day, makes you statistically a nonsmoker. Your risk for respiratory and cardiovascular disease is that of a nonsmoker. If you choose not to quit smoking, work hard to keep your number of cigarettes to 3-4. It is easy to slowly increase the number of cigarettes smoked in a day because nicotine is very addictive. The average number of pounds gained from quitting smoking is 7. This is based on one pack a day smokers. I don’t think you will experience weight gain from quitting due to not being addicted to nicotine (yet). You can quit and see if you experience a weight gain. Diet and exercise really is the key. Have a great week.
